The wind felt great as it buffeted against them, cooling down the Igen heat just enough to make it bearable but not cold. He scanned the ground and the skies around him. B'nal had offered to go on patrol after lessons today, as most everyone else had something to do. But he didn't mind doing this extra bit, it gave Moirath a chance to stretch her wings after she laid around all day.
"See anything, darling?" he asked her, peering over her side at the sand that covered the whole place.
Nothing yet, but with how things have been going, someone or something could pop out at any second,[/i] she answered back, drawing on her 'rider's memories to supply her information.
"Very true," he responded before peering around again. Was it just him or did that seem like a speck down there?

A small groan came from a young boy as he slowly came into the awake and conscious world. He took a deep breath, trying to settle back down into sleep but immediately shot up coughing and hacking, immediately as aware of his surroundings as he was of the sand that caked his mouth and throat. He did all he could to get the tiny grains out of his mouth, right down to rubbing his tongue on his sleeve, but what he really needed was water, tea, liquid of any sort, even coffee would be great if it would get the sand out of his mouth.
Finnian continued to make faces as he looked around. How in the world had he ended up in a place with so much sand? He could have sworn that when he went to bed earlier it was a crisp and chilly winter, there was no way the area could have changed so fast, he didn't think that even Sebastian could pull a trick like this. He stood, wiping the sweat off the back of his neck, before picking up his hat, extremely grateful that he still had it.
Positioning the straw concoction back on the back of his neck he turned in a slow circle. He had to find water, and he wouldn't mind finding people either, picking a direction, he started walking, hoping he would soon find civilization.

Yep, that was definitely a person down there. "Moirath, dear, could you wing down a bit. Possibly land? It might be easier to approach someone on foot," he said, peering over the side at the sandy dunes below.
Of course, came the almost immediate response.
B'nal smiled in gratitude before leaning into the dive she made to lower herself to the ground before gliding and then backwinging to a halt. She landed smoothly and he quickly loosed himself from his riding straps. He could see the person coming closer - looked a lot like a boy - and so he stayed next to his dragon for a moment before lifting his hand lightly in a wave. "Hello! Are you okay?" he called out.
How long do you think the tiny human has been out here?[/i] Moirath asked, resting her head upon the sand and looking out at the boy walking towards them.
"Hopefully not too long, Moirath, hopefully not too long," he answered with a sigh. "If all goes well though, I can ferry him back to the weyr and everything will turn out alright for him."
It should, the blue said, eying the boy like she knew something her rider didn't. Though honestly at this point, that wouldn't surprise him. Sometimes he thought that the blue was the wiser of them both anyway.
