Nathan Young
Age: 20
Gender: male
Rank: Lost
Fandom: Misfits
Canon Pull Point: Directly after the short "Vegas Baby" between series 2 and 3. Nathan vanished from the prison cell in Vegas and was transported to the Igen desert.
Appearance: Nathan is skinny, and never seems to gain weight or pick up muscle. Although with his laziness, he's not really working out much. One of his most noticeable features is the mop of curly brown hair, which he never does anything to tame. There is usually a smirk on his face, and he has an awful time hiding his emotions (which didn't really help in Vegas). He typically dresses plainly, since he doesn't care much about fashion, although he's having fun with the new types of pernese clothes.
Personality: Nathan really doesn't give a shard what people think of him. He says and does whatever he wants, acting on impulse. He's vulgar and has a disrespectful sense of humor, and he gets a kick out of pushing people's buttons. On the other hand, he is completely unmoved when anyone throws insults or ridicule back at him.
He's ambitious in a greedy kind of way; he wants nice things and pretty ladies, but he's definitely not a leader. Or at least, he doesn't try to be. In the past he's demonstrated a weird sort of charisma, but he doesn't know how to harness it.
Nathan is a huge flirt, and he'll try to get in the pants of almost any woman. He's not particularly suave, however, so it isn't always successful. Currently he's missing Marnie a lot, but it probably won't last long. He has a whole planet of girls to meet!
History: Nathan was born in Ireland in the late 1980s. His father left when he was a child, and he was raised by his mother. He still harbors bitterness against his father. Shortly after he left, Nathan and his mother moved to London to start over.
It seemed like he was always getting into some new form of trouble. As a teenager he only got worse. Once his mother started dating again, Nathan did everything he could to antagonize her boyfriends. The older he got, the weaker his moral compass began.
One night he was out with some friends at a bowling alley, and he stole snacks and candy. The crime would have been minor, but he fought with the manager, who pressed charges. His father offered to help him out of the situation, but Nathan refused. This landed him in community service.
On the first day of community service, there was a strange lightning storm. Shortly after, the other teenagers began exhibiting special powers. Chaos followed, beginning with the murder of their community service officer, who was driven insane by the storm.
Nathan's power did not develop until later, when he fell to his death from the roof of the community center. After the funeral, Nathan woke in his coffin and realized that he was immortal. He returned to community service, claiming that his death had been a trick.
At one point, the group's powers were discovered, leading to fame and fortune. However, a jealous enemy plotted to kill all of them. The fate was avoided when Curtis, who had the power to turn back time, returned them to before the discovery.
Shortly after escaping that future, Nathan met Marnie, a teenage mother. They fell in love and Nathan promised to help support the baby. To do so, he sold his power of immortality to a man who could transfer powers between people. The rest of the gang followed suit, wishing to lead a normal life without powers.
However, giving up their powers led to disaster after less than savory folks received their former powers. They eventually defeated the man who had been stealing powers, and received new powers. Nathan's new ability was "reality bending," or magic. He and Marnie went to Vegas to make their fortune.
It wasn't long before the officials realized that Nathan was cheating somehow. He was arrested at a casino. Moments after being locked up, he was transported to Igen.
Blanket apology- I am not British and I am sorry for any dialogue errors in Nathan's speech.
{Ruby}
Color: Brown
Sex: Female
{Clutcher}
Appearance: Ruby is something, alright. Oh, she's built to kick ass and take names. With the thick frame of her mother, Ruby will always be a little bit more prone to carrying extra fat then other firelizards, especially after having a clutch. But despite this, she's still a muscular and powerful firelizard and it'd be stupid to dismiss her as weak just because she's a bit chubby. With thick, tree-trunk legs and long claws, Ruby is a bit of a gargoyle of a firelizard. Her wingspan is impressive indeed, and as an adolescent she will likely spend most of her time accidentally wacking Nathan with it. Oops.
Her face is much prettier then her body. With the delicate face of many of her sisters (and brothers), she has a short, thin muzzle. Her fangs are not visible when her mouth is closed, which would probably shame her if she realized it. Her eyes are somewhat large for a firelizard and deeply set in her face, with thick, heavy eyeridges that hang low over them. She's actually a bit odd looking, but still pretty in her own way.
Personality: Ruby is a little hellion, that's for sure. She's all passion and fire, a little spit-fire of a brown that completely ignores the rules in favor of having fun. She's not a spiteful creature, no, she merely doesn't see the point of listening to anyone else when she could be out having fun! Because of this, she will naturally be horrible to train and perhaps even impossible beyond the very basic commands if Nathan isn't willing to put a great deal of effort into her training. Ruby lives life to the fullest, and can often be found wherever there's trouble, having the time of her life. Expect her to be in the thick of raids on the kitchens, or responsible for tormenting a poor old wher who just wanted to take a nap.
Arrogance is also natural to this brown. She's the best! Of course she's the best. Oh, and her clutchmates are the best, her owner is the best, and her fair is the best. They're the best because she's the best, and don't you forget it. She flies around like she owns the place, because in her mind she does. She's not afraid to scrap it out with challengers to her throne, either. Her arrogance is only matched by her vanity, as Ruby adores compliments and will quickly deem anyone who gives her one a favored member of her posse. Ruby, however, also believes in backing up her arrogance with actual skill and as such is a determined messenger and vermin hunter, though she will never really submit to training with ease.
She is affectionate, though! More then affectionate, really. Ruby likes to cuddle. She likes to cuddle and no one else has a choice in these cuddles, because Ruby will chase down whoever she wants to cuddle and love on and force them to accept her affection. It will be a common sight to see this brown streaking across the kitchens, chasing down one of her fair-members to give them an impromptu grooming session. As a mother, Ruby is aggressive and more protective then she is nurturing. She's better at fending off predators and curious weyrbrats then she is actually tending to the clutch, and for this reason she will likely have to enlist a bit of help from either Nathan or her fairmates with the eggs.
Nathan is her partner in crime! She lies to get in trouble with him, mostly. That's her favorite thing in the world, stirring up some trouble with her favorite misfit. She also expects him to fuss at her and call her amazing, but that's just Ruby being herself, really. While she loves and enjoys being around Nathan, and even respects him, he will never have an easy time training her. Ruby views training as an attempt to control her, which she resents. He'll have to find a way around her pride and arrogance and make her think that the tricks and training is something she wants to do.
