Castiel
Age: Dawn of Time ; Vessel: 27
Gender: Male
Rank: Lost
Fandom: Supernatural
Canon Pull Point: Season 6, Episode 10. "Caged Heat." Samuel uses an Enochian sigil to expel Cas from the building. At this point, he is thrown into the sandstorm that lands him in the the Igen Desert.
Appearance: Castiel is about average height, standing at around 5’8. He has long, unkempt hair that is nearly black, and constantly looks as though he just woke up from a long night's sleep. How he manages this as a sleepless Angel of the Lord is anyone's guess. His prominent brow ridge is almost constantly pulled together, as though he has to continually assess every aspect of what it going on around him. If he is more confused by something than usual, his brows knit further together while he cocks his head slightly to the side. This tic can most often be observed when nuances of human interaction become lost on the Angel. His most notable trait is his voice. His vessel’s voice is high-pitched and slightly boyish. When Castiel occupies his body, his voice is deep, gravelly and slightly monotone.
Although he does have wings, the only physical manifestation of them has been a set of shadow-wings cast out behind him. This being said, his wings can be heard. This ruffling noise precedes his entrance. One moment there is empty space, the slight ruffling noise can be heard, and the next moment Castiel is there. When he flies out of a room, the noise is heard just after he disappears.
Castiel has but one outfit. He wears a black suit, white button-up shirt, blue tie, and a tan overcoat. As an Angel, he doesn't care much for his appearance, and is often disheveled. The top button or two of his shirt are usually undone, and his tie can often be found on backwards (note the picture above).
Personality: Castiel, not having spent much time walking on Earth in recent millennia, is extremely curious about everything. He is overly-logical, and often oblivious of sarcasm, jokes, and the like. In such situations, he usually responds with a serious answer that comes across as a deadpan joke. He has an insatiable hunger for hamburgers, even though he didn’t need to eat as an Angel.
Although many believe that Angels protect the innocent and help the less fortunate, this is untrue. Angels are warriors, trained to kill in the most efficient way possible. He does what is required of him to complete his task, and is not opposed to killing an innocent if necessary.
Angels are sexless, so even though his vessel is male, he has not the sexual desire that a human has. He once made out with a demon that was possessing a woman, but that was only to pick her pocket to obtain a demon-killing knife. Now that he is human, he may be exposed to sexual desires, and is likely to be unsure how to handle those feelings.
It is a common understanding (for those that know of Angels) that they do not feel emotions at all. At least, not in a way that humans understand. Through his profound bond with Dean, Castiel has slowly been developing a more human scope of emotions. This actually caused him to get “demoted,” as some other Angels decided that his emotions were clouding his judgment.
Due to his exposure to Sam and Dean, Castiel has lost his certainty of Heaven’s orders. He has been questioning what is right and wrong, and is often indecisive.
History: Created by God, his Father, in the time before humans, Castiel spent all of his time with his brothers and sisters. In fact, Castiel has never actually seen God. All commands came from the Archangel Michael. As a soldier of the Lord's army, he has served diligently and without question his entire existence. At first, he was serving his Garrison under his close friend, Anael. However, she chose to Fall from Heaven. At this point, Castiel was promoted, and became Captain of his Garrison. Over two thousand years ago, the Lord called all Angels to heaven, and it is there he remained until his most recent assignment. About two years prior, he received a new assignment that placed him back on Earth. His assignment was to protect the true vessels of Michael and Lucifer, in order to deliver them for use in the Apocalypse.
Before Sam and Dean knew of Angels, Dean was dragged to Hell after making a deal with a demon that saved his brother's life. He spent 40 years (Hell time is different than Earth time. It was only a couple of months topside.) being tortured. During this time, the angels were gathering for an assault on Hell to bring Dean back. Of the fleet that was sent in to recover him, only Castiel survived. It took 7 years of Hell-time for Castiel to wade through the Demons to find Dean. He only found Dean because, even through all that he had endured, his soul was still the brightest that Castiel had ever seen. He spent some time protecting Dean's soul, letting him rest. Then, he dragged the soul out and placed him back in his body.
After the time spent with Sam and Dean, his sympathies have changed, and he has rebelled from Heaven. He is devoted to protecting his charges, Sam and Dean, from all danger, rather than prepare them for use. Even though he cares for them both, he has admitted a more profound bond with Dean. It is possible that he will look for someone else to watch out for in the stead of his charges that are now worlds away - after he learns to fend for himself as a human.
Over a year ago, Castiel was cut off from Heaven, making him completely human. This occurred when he carved an Enochian sigil on his chest to dispel all Angels from the area, allowing Sam, Dean, and their half-brother, Adam, to escape. When he came back, he was powerless. It was tough for him to deal with, even with the guidance of his charges.
Some months after, when Castiel had regained his powers, the end of the world was upon them. Sam and Dean had planned to trap Lucifer back in the Pit. To do this, Sam would have to allow Lucifer to possess his body. (Angels, unlike Demons, have to have permission from their vessels. Also, Sam is the true vessel of Lucifer, and Dean is the true vessel of Michael. Essentially, this means that their bodies will not deteriorate from holding the Archangels, as other vessels might.) Sam would then try to retain control over his body, and jump into the Pit with Lucifer. Unfortunately, Sam lost his inner battle, and Lucifer went to meet Michael to begin the Apocalypse. Michael managed to persuade Adam, their half-brother, to become his vessel for the battle. Before the battle commenced, Dean, his "Uncle" Bobby, and Castiel showed up. Castiel tossed a Molotov cocktail of Holy Fire at Michael, incinerating him and causing him to disappear for a while. At this, Lucifer snapped his fingers, obliterating Castiel. Then Bobby was tossed aside, and a fight between Dean and Lucifer started, in which Dean was beaten to a bloody pulp. He pleaded to his brother, though, who was able to muster up enough strength to overpower Lucifer, open the gate to the Pit, and tackle the newly reappeared Michael into it. Thus, the Apocalypse was avoided, and God's end-plan foiled. You're welcome.
Moments after the Apocalypse was avoided, God brought Castiel back into existence as an Angel, and he was even stronger than before. He healed Bobby and Dean, and got them back to safety. Bobby went back to his work as a hunter, and Dean went to live a normal life with Lisa Braeden, a woman that he had a relationship with in years past, as well as her eight-year-old son, Ben. Castiel then went to retrieve Sam from the Pit. He was only partially successful. He managed to bring up Sam's body, but his soul was left behind. Soulless Sam spent the next year hunting with some extended family from his mother's side. After that year, Soulless Sam and Dean started hunting together again after Lisa and Ben were put into danger. Simultaneously, they are trying to find a way to get Sam's soul back.
Cas still isn't entirely sure why he was brought back, but he's been extremely busy trying to make order from the chaos in Heaven. He helps Dean and Sam out whenever he can, but that isn't very often.
{Seraphim}
Color: Blue
Sex: Female
{Fighter}
Appearance: Seraphim is, like many of her siblings, solid. She is particularly large for a blue, nearing the size of a brown, and more muscular then the average example of her color. As such, she has lost a great deal of the agility that blues and greens were once known for. Her wingspan is quite impressive, to match the thick bulk of her body. Her legs are long and elegant, however, in a stark contrast with her bulk. Her claws are somewhat overdeveloped and long, and Castiel will have to take care to trim them regularly or risk her breaking them on something. Her tail is short and thick, as is her neck, giving her a very compact look aside from those long legs.
Her head is just as wide, with a heavy jaw-line. Her eyes are small and set deep within her face, underneath heavy and thick eye ridges that almost give her the appearance of constantly glaring. Her muzzle is long and wide, with her teeth poking from her top lip. She's actually quite intimidating! Notably, one of her headknobs is shorter then the other. This has no noticeable effect other then making her look a bit humorously lopsided.
Personality: Seraphim gives the aura of being calm at all times, a serene creature among the often frantic daily lives of her firelizard kin. She may even seem boring at a passing glance, with her calm surface and calculating gaze. Only adding to her relaxed behavior is her extreme bravery. Very little phases this firelizard, from Thread to whers to dragons. This, when coupled with her insatiable curiosity, can sometimes get her in trouble. Castiel will likely become used to retrieving her from dangerous situations or places where she has become stuck, simply because her fearless nature and curiosity led to her abandoning her common sense. She will always be bringing trophies from her adventures to Castiel, so that they may examine them together.
Seraphim is a guardian, plain and simple. She was born to protect others, in her own mind. Her loyalty is not given to only one person, but instead shared to most of pern as a whole. She is a champion of smaller firelizards, helping them retrieve stolen food and trinkets. Seraphim, despite her status as a fighter, has excellent mothering skills and would be quite willing to adopt a clutch that has been abandoned or otherwise orphaned. Her mothering nature is most often seen when dealing with her owner, as she likes to bring him little scraps of food as well as try to groom him. Despite her motherly and protective nature, it would be foolish to assume that Seraphim is harmless. She is big for a blue, and an excellent fighter. She's also tenacious, chasing down firelizards much larger then herself and harrying them until they leave her and whoever she is protecting alone.
Seraphim is a very affectionate firelizard, and not one for grudges. She is quick to forgive a stepped on tail or a scrap with another firelizard, and is always begging for attention and treats from any human willing to give her the time of day. She is often determined to win the affection of more aggressive fair-mates, engaging them in play and being overly friendly until they give in and agree to be her friend. She enjoys giving gifts to other firelizards and people, especially shiny rocks that she has found. Seraphim can not stand when another person is sad, and will do her very best to cheer them up with cuddles and gifts. This can make her a bit over baring, unfortunately. Luckily, it will be easy for Castiel to teach her when she needs to back off.
She loves Castiel, as most firelizards love their owner. She loves discovering new things with him, satisfying her own curiosity and showing him new prizes she has found. She loves being an obnoxious cuddling machine, and she loves just being around him in general. She very rarely questions what Castiel does, though her love of protecting the innocent may sometimes conflict with his desire to harm them. Seraphim desire to please her master and her own tenacity will make training her quite easy, though Castiel will have to be careful to pick times between her adventures, or he'll risk the little blue Betweening away in favor of exploring a hollow rock.
